Sahyadri\u2019s main aim is to deliver good quality education to students, make them aware of thechanging world, and, most importantly, create responsible citizens. After India\u2019s independence, the Konkan region lagged in educational awareness, and people with low per capita income were not as stable and aware of the overall socio-economic conditions of Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Raigad, and Konkan as they are now. Education is the key to addressing this problem and ultimately improving living quality. With this spark, at the age of 21, the late Govindrao Nikam laid the first stone of this organization without any initial capital. In 1957, he established an educational organization named \u201cSahyadri Shikshan Sanstha,\u201d ten years after India\u2019s independence<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Since 1958, the Sahyadri has been delivering good quality education and knowledge to students from rural Konkan, Maharashtra, and other parts of India, maintaining its uniqueness among all the educational organizations in Konkan. The Sahyadri has 33 secondary schools, 4 Marathi and English medium schools, and 5 higher secondary schools spread across the Ratnagiri district. Moreover, looking to meet changing demands in the education profession,the Sahyadri stepped into professional institutes and established vocational institutes like ITI,Polytechnic, Visual Art, Teacher Education Institute, Management Institute,Hospitality,Agriculture, Food Technology, Horticulture, Agricultural Biotechnology, Pharmacy, NursingEducation, Commerce, Arts, Computer Science, and various competitive exam coaching andshort-term industry demand courses.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Since its establishment, over 135,687 students have graduated from here. Sahyadri has three major campuses: our technical campus is at Vahal Phata Sawarde, covering about 45 acres, where our founder, Govindrao Nikam Memorial, “Smrutigandh,” is located. The second campus is in Sawarde town, where our Sahyadri’s head office is situated, and our Agricultural Institute campus is in Kharawate-Dahiwali, approximately 10 km west of the head office. This agricultural institute campus spans 400 acres. All our campuses and schools boast excellent infrastructure facilities, including classrooms, interactive labs, library units, self-study spaces, sanitation units, seminar rooms, accommodation facilities, sports facilities, cultural activity units, and a student service and counselling centre. Every year, each school and institute hosts extracurricular and educational activities to enhance a healthy educational ecosystem.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Most schools are affiliated with the Maharashtra State Board of Education and ISO. Our professional institutes are approved by Mumbai University, AICTE, MSBTE, PCI, MCAER, DGET, DTE, DAM, NCTE, Dr. B.S.K.K.V (An Agricultural University), and our schools, institutes, students, and faculty have been awarded by the industry, government, universities, institutions for commendable work in terms of learning. We are committed to students’ learning and enabling them to become creative, adaptive, and innovative problem-solvers in today’s workplace.
